Mottaki: Iran, Armenia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan are key regional states

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has underscored the importance of peace initiatives brought up at the Non-Aligned Movement conference.



"New ideas about peace, the prevention of war and the economic development of member countries are introduced during NAM gatherings," Mottaki said in a Wednesday meeting with Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Gegham Gharibjanian.



"These ideas can be very important for the international community," he added.



The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 15th Foreign Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran which has brought together representatives from over 110 member countries and officials from several other observer countries, such as Armenia.



During the meeting, Mottaki also described Iran, Armenia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan as key regional states, while Gharibjanian thanked Iran for its efforts to have three historic Iranian churches included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, PRESS TV Iran reports.
