"We are always ready for such meetings," Bernard Fassier said. The mediator appreciated highly the Moscow Declaration on resolution of the Nagonro Karabakh conflict. "The document states that the conflict should be resolved on the basis of the international law, specifically on the principle of territorial integrity and the right of nations to self-determination," he said, adding that Turkey's initiative on Caucasus security is a positive move. Touching on presidential talks, Ambassador Fassier said that the mediators arrange meetings but do not take part in them. "Even President Medvedev did not attend the first meeting between the Armenian and Azeri Presidents. We don't want the sides in the Karabakh conflict to take our mediation for pressure," he said, ANS Azeri TV channel reports. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
