Friendly box tournament kicks off in YerevanFebruary 16, 2009 - 16:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - International youth friendly box tournament between Armenian, Russian, Georgian and Kazakh teams kicked off in Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex today. In his opening speech, the NOC President congratulated the participants and promised that the tradition will continue. ''This tournament is very important as it will enable our young boxers to gain international experience and become psychologically prepared for the World Youth Boxing Championship to start on May 23," he said. Gagik Tsarukyan was awarded a cup and a diploma for his significant contribution to development of sports in Armenia. Armenian Minister of Sports Armen Grigoryan and SCC Director General Murad Muradyan were also handed diplomas. Minister of Sports Armen Grigoryan delivered a greeting speech, specifying the important role such events play in the development of sports in Armenia.
