Turkey to build Nabucco jointly with Iran?March 18, 2009 - 20:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish Energy Minister Hilmi Guler said Tuesday that his ministry has already proposal to Iran about Nabucco pipeline project and is now waiting for Tehran's response. Guler said he hopes an agreement will be signed as soon as possible. "Our final goal is implementation of Nabucco. Turkish projects have been already sent to Iran," Turkish media quoted Guler as saying. The Nabucco pipeline is a planned natural gas pipeline that will transport natural gas from Turkey to Austria, via Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary. It will run from Erzurum in Turkey to Baumgarten an der March, a major natural gas hub in Austria. This pipeline is a diversion from the current methods of importing natural gas solely from Russia The pipeline will run with total length of 3,300 kilometers. It estimated to cost around 7.9 billion. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
