On RA Ministry of Culture initiative, Armenia celebrates this day by organizing various nationwide events such as a "Book Vernisage" on territories adjacent to Aram Khachaturyan's statue and discussions in National Library.Tonight, Yerevan Chamber Orchestra, as well as Berd, Zvarthnots and Nane dance groups and Arevik children's ensemble will feature a joint concert entitled "Ode to the Book". The concert will take place in Aram Khachaturyan concert hall (conductor: Haroutyun Topalyan). Armenian pop singers Arsen Grigoryan, Shoushan Petrosyan, David Amalyan and many others will also participate in the event. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
