Armenia's President and Ambassador of Iran to Armenia discuss realization of agreements reachedMay 15, 2009 - 13:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today RA President Serzh Sargsyan met with the Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Seyed Ali Saghaiyan, the RA president's press office reported.A wide range of topics on Armenian-Iranian cooperation was discussed during the meeting. Officials, particularly, dwelled on the process of bringing to life of the agreements reached during April visit of Serzh Sargsyan in Iran. Yesterday Iran started delivering gas to Armenia against Armenian electrical energy. In connection with the launch of the "Gas in exchange for electric energy" program the Iranian delegation led by Seyyed Reza Kasaizadeh, director of the National Iranian Gas Export Company, stayed in Armenia between May 11 and May 13. During the meeting work groups presented outcomes of discussions. Quadripartite agreement "About coordination of the electrical energy transmission in exchange for gas" was signed. The document was signed by heads of the CJSC "Yerevan Thermal Power Plant" and "Vorotan Cascade Hydro Power Plant" on behalf of the Armenian side and leadership of the National Iranian Gas Export Company and the Tavanir company from Iranian part.
