Azerbaijan doubles gas rates for TurkeyMay 19, 2009 - 14:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan will charge Turkey about USD 200-250 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas, compared to USD 120 it charged previously, APA agency reported citing Turkey's Haber7 web portal.The two countries have been in intensive negotiations on the price and volume of naturals gas Azerbaijan exports to Turkey. Turkey proposes increasing the volume of gas delivery while Azerbaijan wants to bring prices close to market prices. Haber7 said Azerbaijan and Turkey have agreed on the price but are still negotiating on the increased volume of natural gas from Shah Deniz Phase 2. Earlier Azerbaijan said it charged USD 120 per 1,000 cubic meters of 5 billion cubic meters of gas exported to Turkey in 2008.
