"Generation", film by Atom Egoyan, to be screened in Germany

PanARMENIAN.Net - Beginning May 21, German cinemas will starts screening "Generation", a film by Canadian Director Atom Egoyan.



In 2008 Can Festival, "Generation" received ecumenical jury award. In Hamburg Festival (autumn 2008) Egoyan was awarded Douglas-Sirk prize for this film.



Atom Egoyan is a well-known Canadian-Armenian Director, scenario-writer, producer and actor. His works are mainly devoted to alienation and isolation, state bureaucracy etc.



The film depicts the life of a teenager who tries to overcome hostility against his own father, a man not belonging to Christian culture and accused of terrorist activity by his relatives.



Atom Egoyan was born in Cairo. His name was selected in honor of the atomic power plant built in Egypt in 1960.

Egoyan currently lives in Toronto with his wife Arsine Khandjyan and son Arshil.
