Turkey is unlikely to launch negotiations with EU

PanARMENIAN.Net - Egemen Bagis, the state minister and Turkey's chief negotiator for EU talks, expressed fears that Turkey could not be an EU member before 2014. According to the Turkish official, it is too early to talk about a date for membership for a country whose negotiations could be launched 45 years after its application. He stressed that Turkey's EU process had been problematic, therefore Ankara needed to be very patient. The Minister also said that both Europe and Turkey were aware that the process was a win-win one, World Bulletin reports.
