Karabakh conflict resolution impossible without military parity

PanARMENIAN.Net - "As long as Azerbaijan continues making statements about resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict by military means, the potential danger of war persists. It does not matter if these statements were made for domestic or foreign audiences, Khosrov Haroutyunyan , leader of  the Christian Democratic Union and a member of the RA President's Public Council, told a press conference in Yerevan today.

According to him, while Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made warlike statements solely for domestic consumption, his recent statement in London creates a qualitatively different situation. Haroutyunyan added that Azerbaijan confirms those statements by intensive militarization of the country, violating all international agreements which is ignored by the international community.

The leader of the Christian Democratic Union pointed out that now, after Aliyev's statement  in London, а compulsory military parity between the parties of the conflict should be fixed in all documents on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "If parity is not achieved, the final settlement of the conflict, even in the long run will not be possible", Khosrov Haroutyunyan stressed.
