FRG Prosecutor's Office claims sanction for arresting Turkish terrorist

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prosecutor's Office in Karlsruhe, Germany applied to Federal Court with a request to issue a arrest sanction for the fifth member of the so called "zauerland group" whose members plotted a series of terrorist acts on German territory, with airports one of their targets, Lenta.ru reports quoting Spiegel.



Earlier, there were reports about four terrorists: Fritz Gelowicz, Daniel Schneider, Adem Yilmaz and Attila Selek, the former two being German nationals converted to Islam.



The fifth terrorist is Turkish Mevluet K., 30, who, according to inquest data, transported 26 bomb detonators from Germany to Turkey to hand them to Attilla Selek. Mevluet's role plotting terrorist acts is said to be important for inquest, as "zauerland group" would not have managed to do anything without him, inquest data report.



Mevluet K. lived in Lyuvigskhafen for some time. Currently, he is believed to be hiding in Turkey. As reported by German intelligence services, he created a broad extremist network in FRG and Balkans. Besides, when in Istanbul, he was responsible for meeting and providing supplies to the Islamists who went to fight in Chechnya.



Four members of «zauerland» group were arrested in 2007. Three of them were detained immediately, when preparing a bomb for which they had acquired 12 big canisters with 35% hydrogen peroxide solution. The fourth terrorist was arrested later and extradited to Turkey.



All four terrorists have already confessed to plotting terrorist acts in FRG. They were preparing to break into cars, German clubs, bars, airports and other organizations. Rammshtain Germany-based American military unit was one of their targets.
