Political crisis continues in Iran

PanARMENIAN.Net - The new head of the judicial system of Iran has dismissed the country's chief prosecutor Saeed Murtazavi . The latter was involved in the trials against the opposition and was personally responsible for persecution of the opposition and closure of a number of print publications in the country. Dismissal of Murtazavi is a blow towards the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Zman.com writes.

Meanwhile, the Iranian parliament will vote on composition of the new cabinet proposed by the re-elected President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

It is expected that a number of candidates will meet the objections of deputies, including supporters of the president. First of all, the candidate for oil minister Massoud Mirkazemi, who's opponents claim that he has not enough experience for this position.

Following the official re-election of Ahmadinejad for the second term on June 12, Iran broke into the most acute political crisis over the past 30 years. The opposition held mass protests, claiming that the vote had been rigged, Radio Liberty reports.
