  150 high schools will function in Armenia by 2012September 3, 2009 - 14:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Some 150 high schools will function in Armenia by 2012, said a representative of the RA Ministry of Education. Narine Hovhannisyan said the purpose of the initiative is to train the pupils for institutions of higher education. "In high schools, pupils will get some 70 percent of knowledge essential to enter a university," she said. "Any pupil will have the possibility to choose the subjects to be studied thoroughly after 9 grades in ordinary school." As to the teaching stuff, Ms. Hovhannisyan said all teachers have taken refresher courses. "Courses for directors will be conducted in October," she said.
