Hovhannes Igityan: Armenian Parliament serves as tool for President

Hovhannes Igityan: Armenian Parliament serves as tool for President PanARMENIAN.Net - It was the Turkish side that made claims for submitting Protocols to Parliament for ratification, said Hovhannes Igityan, board member of Pan-Armenian National Movement and former Head of RA Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee. Turkish Parliament, according to him, is viewed as an independent body capable of voicing its opinion, whereas Armenian parliament is just a tool for President. "We cannot stop Protocols from being signed, but we can delay the process," Igityan stressed.

Speaker also noted that United States is attempting to exert pressure on Presidents elected through democratic methods. Igityan finds that the first thing to be done in the country is to elect a new parliament which will protect the interests of the country and its people.
