Artsvik Minasyan: Before starting talks, Armenia should assess all risks

PanARMENIAN.Net - "I was greatly disappointed by RA President's speech at the Public Council Session," ARFD parliamentarian Artsvik Minasyan told a news conference in Yerevan, commenting upon President's statement on Armenian-Turkish normalization. According to him, Serzh Sargsyan's speech led to the conclusion that initiator in Armenian-Turkish process was Armenia. Before making such steps, Armenia should weigh all pros and cons and assess risks in economic and political spheres.

Head of Parliamentary Committee on Economic Issues Vardan Ayvazyan disagreed with Minasyan's viewpoint.

"We were clearly explained that the documents in their present-day format pose threat to Armenia. We should avoid the cause-effect relationship arising thereof," he said. According to him, RA President and Foreign Minister have several times announced that if Protocols contained clauses on Armenian Genocide or Karabakh issue they wouldn't be subject to discussion.
