Aybars Gorgulu: RA public opinion tougher towards protocols' conclusion than Turkey's

PanARMENIAN.Net - "I don't expect a strong reaction from Turkish public opinion. On the other hand the Karabakh problem has the potential to block the whole process. So the Minsk Group should be followed closely and they must definitely convince both Armenia and Azerbaijan to have a deal (not of course the total resolution of the conflict but some sort of a deal) after the signature of the protocols. Otherwise Turkey will not open the borders," Aybars Gorgulu, an expert at Sabanci University and Assistant Program Director of TESEV Foreign Policy Program told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

"Regarding the reactions from Armenia, I think Armenian public opinion is more tough towards the signature of the protocols. There are certain milieux who oppose consistently to any rapprochement between the two countries. Serzh Sargsyan will have to take great efforts in order to convince its public opinion I guess," the expert noted.
