President's all-Armenian tour aims at getting familiarized with Diaspora's position

PanARMENIAN.Net - RA President's dialogue with Armenian community representatives was a success, since both parties listened to each other, said Deputy Chief of Presidential Staff Vigen Sargsyan. Even though discussion over Armenian-Turkish Protocols was held in closed format, society was well-informed of processes, he finds. "RA President and Diaspora representatives had the chance to share their impressions with media," Vigen Sargsyan aded.



"Diaspora representatives are not expected to express similar views on Armenian-Turkish Protocols or count 'pros' and 'cons'," Sargsyan said. President, according to him, seeks to listen to as many approaches as possible so as to have general understanding of Diaspora's position.



"We make distinction between the importance and goal President's meetings," Vigen Sargsyan stressed, adding that despite Armenia's small population - 3 million people - there is a big Diaspora community consisting of 7 million Armenians. Hence, authorities intend to start new format of discussions over key issues beyond Armenia's borders, with direct involvement of entire Diaspora.
