Former Nagorno Karabakh President meets with Prelate HagopianOctober 27, 2009 - 11:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The former President of Nagorno Karabakh, Mr. Arkady Ghoukassyan, met with His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate, at the Armenian Prelacy of Canada.During their meeting, the attendants primarily discussed issues related to the "All Armenian Fund," an ongoing, international charity project that raises money for rural and infrastructure developments, as well as health, educational and social programs in Armenia and Artsakh. Mr. Ghoukassyan was first elected as President of Nagorno Karabakh on September 8, 1997, re-elected in 2002 and serve until the end of his term in 2007. A member of Karabakh's National Security Council since 2003, he has was the first Foreign Minister of the Republic. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
