Khachanush Hakobyan: Armenia among top five countries with high mortality from cancer

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to the World Health Organization, the maximum number of deaths in 2009 was caused by cancer. Armenia is among top five countries with high mortality from cancer, Khachanush Hakobyan, executive director of Armenian-American Health Center told a press conference on December 4.



According to her, 176 thousand people were examined within the last 12 years of in the center, 92 thousand patients have passed diagnostic mammograms. 5 thousand 750 cases of breast cancer were identified. Only 26,500 women had no pathology.



Armenian-American Health Center in Armenia diagnosed breast cancer among 7 men, which is the result of endocrine, hormonal changes.
