5-year program for development of Armenian studies to be elaborated in 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - "We have achieved all our objectives in the current year, despite the crisis. Most of the projects were implemented through grants. Between 1994 and 2009 the total amount of grants surpassed USD 180 million," Samvel Harutyunyan , Chairman of RA State Committee for Science at the Ministry of Education told press conference December 23.  

For the current year the Committee has funded 41 research trips (AMD 20 million), 20 scientific conferences (AMD 10 million), and AMD 7 million were granted to the program of 4-year schools. In addition, round-table discussions, seminars, attended by government officials and representatives of the scientific community have been held, " Samvel Harutyunyan said. 

 

The Committee for Science cooperates with the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), EC project "Black Sea Cooperation» (BSI), the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) and other organizations. 

 

"In 2010 we intend to sign cooperation agreements with Russia, Belarus and Germany. We also announce Republican grant competitions, representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will also have the opportunity to take part in it, " Samvel Harutyunyan said. 



He also stressed the importance of expanding the "Black Sea Cooperation". 5-year program of development of Armenian studies will be elaborated next year,  the Chairman of the State Committee for Science of Education Ministry of Armenia concluded.
