Safarov 8-month suspended sentence upheldJanuary 30, 2008 - 17:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Budapest Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of 17 November, 2006 to Ramil Safarov, sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan. A court of first instance gave Safarov an 8-month sentence for disobedience to authorities. On February 19, 2004, the prison guards told Safarov to give his phone card. Not knowing Hungarian, Safarov failed to understand them and a fight started. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
