The visit, coming three weeks after Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou visited Israel, is a testament to the rapidly warming ties between the two countries.
“In the near future, newly appointed Israeli Ambassador to Armenia will arrive in Yerevan to hand his credentials,” said the chairperson of the Jewish community of Armenia.
The prospect of putting in place such an agreement has been on the agenda of past meetings of the U.S.-Armenia Joint Economic Task Force, but no specific action has yet been taken to translate these discussions into reality.
