Opening of Armenian-Turkish border will promote development of trade relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan

PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 12, within the framework of the 3rd sitting of intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan, an agreement between RA and Kazakh Agriculture Ministries has been signed in Yerevan. Priorities in trade relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan have been established.



RA Deputy Agriculture Minister, Commission Co-Chair Samvel Avetisyan stated that Armenia and Kazakstan have already achieved certain success in the development of bilateral relations.



"Both exports and import between our countries have registered an increase within recent times. Transportation and communication between our countries is the main issue in the development of trade relations. Armenian and Kazakh Governments are trying to solve it through opening of Iran Armenia railway that will enable Armenia's passage to Iranian port Enzeli and Europe," he said.



Samvel Avetisyan also added that opening of Armenian-Turkish border will promote development of trade relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan.



In his turn, Kazakh Co-Chair Tobilbek Omarov expressed a hope that the programs agreed upon will be implemented before the next intergovernmental committee due in 2010.

Samvel Avetisyan noted that in near future RA Prime Minister will visit Astana to participate in CIS Leaders Summit. Later, Kazakhstan Minister of Foreign Affairs will pay a return visit to Yerevan.
