RA economic policy will allow Armenia to rank among upper-middle-income economiesOctober 17, 2009 - 19:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met Saturday with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Managing Director of the World Bank, the government's information center reported. Briefing on the economic situation in the republic, PM Sargsyan presented the government's anti-crisis policy aimed at development of infrastructure, improvement of business environment and assistance to small and medium-sized businesses. Dr. Okonjo-Iweala hailed the measures and said that the progress fixed in Armenia will help it enlist comprehensive support for implementation of new programs. "Your economic policy will allow Armenia to rank among upper-middle income economies," she said. The officials also discussed the Blue ocean strategy which supposes creation of a new market space or "Blue Ocean" rather than competing in an existing industry. They referred to restructing of Armenia's external debt to ease debt service for the state budget. After the meeting, the officials participated in the opening ceremony of new premises of WB Yerevan Office.
