Buyers of flour in Armenia expect increase in prices

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prices for wheat are growing in the global market of grains, what is conditioned by draught. On July 29, Armenian Minister of Agriculture Gerasim Alaverdyan said that a certain expectation is observed also among Armenian companies with respect to increase in prices for flour. “2010 is a lean year, thus prices for flour are defined by the market,” Alaverdyan told journalists.

He added that the Ministry of Agriculture is actively cooperating with the State Committee for the Protection of Economic Competition to prevent violation of rules of free competition.

Alaverdyan said that the entire world is facing this problem. “I saw a report of the UN, according to which 40% growth is expected in prices for grains,” said Alaverdyan.
