World Bank Armenia announces nation-wide essay competition for studentsFebruary 1, 2011 - 17:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The World Bank Yerevan Office announced the launch of an essay competition among university students in Armenia. The purpose of the competition is to raise more awareness of and discussion on the main development challenges facing the country. Prospective participants should be formally enrolled in one of the universities in Armenia till the announcement of the competition results. The World Bank especially encourages students of Social Sciences (such as Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, and Public Policy) to apply. Essays should address the following two topics: what should the Armenian Government do to overcome the adverse effects of the recent economic crisis; and what is the value of forests in Armenia? Essays should be sent either via email to agrigoryan1@worldbank.org, or submitted in a hard copy to the World Bank Yerevan Office at the following address: G. Lousavorich Street 9, Yerevan 0015. The 4 best essays will receive monetary awards from the World Bank Armenia in the following order: 1st place – USD 700; 2nd place – USD 500; 3rd place – USD 400; 4th place – USD 300.
