Bill on free economic zones discussed in YerevanMarch 29, 2011 - 18:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 29, Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) organized discussion of the RA bill on free economic zones. Presenting the bill, lawyer of EIF Arthur Melikyan said that the bill envisages the basic “rules of game,” while managers of free zones will be responsible for their fulfillment. According to Melikyan, the bill also sets privileges for some companies and free economic zones, depending on programs submitted by the Armenian government. Head of SME Department at the Armenian Ministry of Economy Armen Yeganyan said for his part that the bill is aimed at regional development, as well as development of certain fields of economy. Referring to shortages of the bill, independent expert of the program on establishment of Gyumri industrial park Gagik Gabrielyan said that the bill should be aimed at simplifying administration, but not at providing tax privileges.
