AJA covers over 7% of world’s jewelry industry September 21, 2011 - 15:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On September 21, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan attended the exhibition of Armenian Jewelers Association (AJA) that opened in Yerevan on occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. The exhibition will last till September 23. AJA President Gagik Gevorgyan told journalists that the Association was established 14 years ago and will mark its 15th anniversary next year. “We want to make this date a unique all-Armenian celebration,” he said. According to him, the exhibition itself is a celebration with such events happening once every ten years. Gevorgyan thanked the President and government for assistance. “President himself opened the exhibition, thus stressing that the power of our jewelers is the Motherland,” he emphasized. Gevorgyan said that more than 5000 jewelers from over 30 countries are members of AJA, which covers over 7% of world’s jewelry industry. Striking Armenian jewelers’ professionalism, Gevorgyan said that “it is the result of not only handwork but also the work of heart and soul.” Renowned Armenian jewelers from U.S., Canada, Switzerland, Russia, France, Italy, Thailand, Lebanon and other countries participate in the exhibition. Yerevan Show exhibits best pieces of 65 famous jewelry brands owned by our compatriots from Diaspora, among them Asthet, Haytayan, Bergio, Tacori, Waskol, Yessayan Jewellery and others.
