Armenian Agriculture Minister praises organization of grape purchase October 12, 2011 - 13:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 2011’s grape production volume in Armenia reached 175 thousand tons against 220 thousand in 2010, according to Armenian Agriculture Minister. At news conference in Yerevan, Sergo Karapetyan gave high assessment to organization of grape purchase in 2011, with 106 thousand tons of grape bought in 2011 against 130 thousand in 2010. According to the Minister, purchase price was set at AMD 130 per kilo; in Tavush province, grapes were sold for AMD 120 because of low sugar content and higher transportation price. According to Karapetyan, the purchase of grapes, vegetables and fruit is in progress.
