BSEC PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON LEGAL AND POLITICAL ISSUES CONVENES IN YEREVAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - Within the framework of measures connected with Armenia's presidency at the organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), a sitting of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly committee on legal and political issues opened in Yerevan today. As reported by the press service of the National Assembly of Armenia, parliamentary delegations from Albania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine participate in the forum. Addressing the sitting chairman of the Armenian parliament Armen Khachatrian emphasized that as one of the co-founder countries of the PA BSEC Armenia highlighted the organization activities as an institution called to solve issues of regional cooperation in all spheres of life. "When forming the assembly the parliaments of our countries were guided by the goal to contribute to the development of comprehensive cooperation between the countries of the Black Sea basin, formation of legal foundations, strengthening peace and stability in the region," - he said. Prospects of cooperation between the BSEC countries for the sake of obtaining efficient state governance were the first issue on the forum agenda. Addressing the issue vice-chairman of the PA BSEC Victor Dallakian thereupon pointed out the importance of passing a law on free movement of citizens and formation of a favorable investment atmosphere in the territory of the BSEC countries. In their speeches the forum participants emphasized that economic integration, harmonization of legal framework and encouragement of mutual investments would become a bail for not only enhancing the welfare of the countries of the Black Sea basin, but also establishing security and stability in the region.
