NEGOTIATIONS ON IRANIAN-ARMENIAN GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED

PanARMENIAN.Net - The negotiations on construction of the Iranian-Armenian gas pipeline have been completed, Armenian minister of energy Armen Movsissian told journalists today. In his words, the principal agreement on construction will be concluded in the near future, during the visit of the Iranian minister of gas and oil to Yerevan. The minister noted that the building of the Armenian sector of the pipeline costs approximately $100 million. Part of the expenditures is to be covered with help of credits, the rest will be covered at the expenses of tranches. At the same time the minister refrained from announcing the sources of the funds before the signing of the agreement. A. Movsissian added that the Armenian government does not view the pipeline construction project as an alternative to the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant.
