Ukrainian expert calls for raising Armenian Genocide awareness

PanARMENIAN.Net - Ukrainian political analyst and member of Humanitarian Council under the President of Ukraine stressed the need to take active steps aimed at raising awareness on the Armenian Genocide.

“Every Ukrainian should be aware of the tragedy that befell Armenians,” Anailitka.at.ua quoted Mikhail Beletsky as saying during a roundtable on “Armenian Genocide: Impunity generates relapse.”

On April 13, Kyiv hosted a roundtable on “Armenian Genocide: Impunity generates relapse.” The discussion featured a screening of a film titled “Ordinary Genocide: Maragha, April 10, 1992,” released by the Public Relations and Information Center at RA President's Administration.

The event brought together prominent Ukrainian political analysts, scientists, journalists, public and political figures, representatives of the Cossacks.

The roundtable also featured a discussion of the text of the address to Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn with a request to recognize April 24 as Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day on a legislative level.
