Tbilisi rally participants demand Genocide recognition

On April 23, a peaceful rally was held in front of Georgia’s parliamentary building in commemoration of 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The event was initiated by Hayartun Cultural and Education Center at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in Georgia, Georgia’s Armenian Community, National Congress of the Armenians of Georgia and the Assembly of Tbilisi Armenians.

Rally participants organized a flash mob in the center of Tbilisi, constructing a cross out of candles and performing a national dance in complete silence.

Further, demonstrators passed a message urging for recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide to Georgian parliament.
