Crystal processing plant to be constructed in Armenia by yearnedApril 25, 2012 - 19:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minster visited Armenian-Swiss Joint Venture Astra, specialized in production in the field of precision engineering. Tigran Sargsyan familiarized himself with the production process and development programs of the company. In 2011, Astra’s production totaled AMD 34,5 mln, growing by 132,7% against the 2010 index, with product realization volumes grossing AMD 31 mln. 2011 saw the establishment of Astra Crystal to specialize in cultivation and processing of technical crystals, as well as production of pure raw materials of technical sapphire. The investment program for the new plant totals USD 9 million. The construction of the new plant is planned to be completed by yearend. The program envisages creation of 20 new jobs vacancies with AMD 180 thous. monthly salary. The production will be exported to China, Russia and the EU, RA government’s press service reported.
