RUSSIAN DEPUTY OFFERED TO CEDE ABKHAZIAN SECTOR OF TRANSCAUCASIAN RAILWAY TO ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Committee for the CIS Issues of the Russian Federation Council Vadim Gustov suggested to cede to Armenia the Abkhazian sector of the Transcaucasian railway, which is not functioning at present. V. Gustov finds it advisable to pass the sector, which will be guarded by the CIS peacemakers, to Armenia for a 20-year term, Caucasus Press agency reports. According to the source, due to the closing of the Abkhazian transit corridor Armenia and Georgia lose about $30 million yearly.
