Expert: social networks indicate no intention for street riotsMay 7, 2012 - 14:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Currently social networks indicate no intention of political forces to drive people to streets, information technology expert Samvel Martirosyan said on May 7. As to street protests by activists discontented with outcomes of the parliamentary elections, Martirosyan said: “Public activity and street protests are somewhat different. Actions are usually organized by a party in Armenia.” “As for me, I do not see any potential in Armenia to drive independent people to streets. Parties are usually the first to use an occasion to organize protests, and would not tolerate being left behind,” he added. According to Martirosyan, upheavals occurring abroad that seem public activity to us, are very often actions organized by political forces. For his part, information security specialist Tigran Kocharyan stated that the presidential race is crucial in terms of street protects by political forces. The parliamentary elections “showed the political arrangement, and politicians must now decide whether or not they participate in the presidential elections. The current vote, particularly the proportional one, demonstrated chances of each force for the forthcoming presidential elections in 2013,” Kocharyan stated.
