PROBLEMS OF LAKE SEVAN DISCUSSED IN WASHINGTON

PanARMENIAN.Net - A measure dedicated to actual scientific-technical and ecological problems was held in the Armenian Embassy in the US last weekend. Members of the US Federal Union for Water Industry and Washington department of the Union of Armenian Architects and American Scientists as well as officials of the Ecology Agency, Ministry of Agriculture and various universities and Scientific and Research Institutes of the US took part in the forum. During his speech Armenia's Ambassador to the US Arman Kirakosian presented the situation in the scientific sphere in Armenia and problems available on Lake Sevan. He spoke on the severe damage caused to the lake during the last century and told about the efforts aimed at raising the water level, positive tendencies to be watched in the ecology sphere and underscored the significance of international participation and cooperation on this issue. On completion of the meeting A. Kirakosian replied to numerous questions of the forum participants.
