Ahmadinejad says Iran will be world’s 15th largest economy in 2 years

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says his country will be the 15th largest world economy in two years. Fars News Agency reported.

"According to global reports, our economy is ranked 17th in the world now, and we will be the 15th by the next two years," Ahmadinejad said, addressing a ceremony in Iran's Northwestern city of Zanjan on Wednesday, July 11.

He called for nationwide efforts for Iran's development, saying that building and developing the country sets his administration's priority.

Last month, Iranian Economy Minister Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini said that the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) doubled in the last five years.
