ARMENIA TO BE PROVIDED WITH GAS IN WINTER EVEN IN CASE OF FORCE MAJEURENovember 6, 2004 - 17:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - "Even in case of a force majeure Armenia's population will be provided with gas during the winter as we have pumped enough "blue fuel" in the underground gas-holders", Armgasprom CJSC President Karen Karapetian told Regnum news agency. In his words, gasification works are being conducted throughout the republic at present. "If we succeed in preserving the rhythm Armenia will be fully gasificated by 2007-2008 while the number of the users will exceed that of the soviet period", Karapetian informed. To note, Gazprom Company is the major gas supplier to Armenia to date, however, with the exploitation of the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline the republic will have an alternative source of natural gas industry.
