Ameriabank boosts SME lending

PanARMENIAN.Net - Ameriabank CJSC has achieved favorable results in lending to Armenia’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the bank’s CFO said.

As Gevorg Tarumyan told a press conference, lending to SMEs by provinces and subsidiaries grew by 171% in a year, with 77,4% growth recorded in lending to larger corporate business.

Ameriabank’s Development Director Tigran Jrbashyan, in turn, stressed that lending to SMEs by branch network and to large businesses grew by 1.8-fold and 80% respectively, with the consolidated portfolio of SME lending having totaled AMD 29 bln.

He further noted that the bank maintains a leading position in corporate lending, with the consolidated loan portfolio grossing AMD 127 bln.
