Lilit Mkrtchian scores 1st win in Fide Women’s Grand Prix round 4

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Lilit Mkrtchian beat Russia’s Ekaterina Kovalevskaya in Fide Women’s Grand Prix round 4 to score her 1st win, while Elina Danielian (Armenia) tied her game with Nino Khurtsidze (Georgia).

After round 4 of Jermuk-hosted tournament, Danielian is 7th with 2 points; Mkrtchian climbed 10th with 1,5 points.

China’s Ju Wenjun is leading the tournament with 3,5 points, followed by Hou Yifan (China) and Humpy Koneru (India) with 2,5 points each.

In round 5, Danielian and Mkrtchian will face off against Zhao Xue (China) and Nadezhda Kosintseva (Russia) respectively.
