Armenia to open embassy in IndonesiaAugust 9, 2012 - 14:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 8, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with his Indonesian counterpart Marty Natalegawa. Minister Natalegawa stressed the vast potential for development of Armenian-Indonesian relations, noting Indonesia’s readiness to give new impetus to the bilateral ties. Minister Nalbandian, in turn, underscored the importance of the agreement reached on development and deepening of multifaceted cooperation with Indonesia. “Three months ago we agreed to take action on deepening and development of bilateral cooperation. We stand ready to open Armenian embassy in Indonesia in the near future to further the ties between the two countries,” he said. The Indonesian official, in turn, stressed his country’s readiness to contribute to the diplomatic outpost’s operation. The parties further reached agreement to intensify political dialogue between the two countries, strengthen cooperation in the framework of international organizations and establish legal framework, as well as take steps aimed at development of trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation. They discussed a number of regional and international issues, with Armenian minister presenting RA foreign policy priorities, the steps Yerevan takes to establish peace and cooperation in the South Caucasus, as well as the latest developments in Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.
