PYUNIK YEREVAN VS. NEFTCHI BAKU IN QUARTER-FINAL MATCH OF CIS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Pyunik Yerevan and Neftchi Baku will meet in a quarter-final match for the CIS Cap Championship in Moscow today. To remind, both teams won first places in their groups. The other day the match between Pyunik and Skonto ended in a draw 2 :2. By difference in scored and missed goals the Armenian soccer players entered the next round. This quarter-final match must not end in a draw. Last the teams of the two countries met in 1988 within frames of the USSR championship. On the whole the history of the former USSR major league records of 44 matches between Ararat and Neftchi: 16 matches were won by Armenians, 16 matches ended in a draw and 14 times victory passed to Azeris. To note, acting president of Pyunik Khoren Hovhanissian has kicked 6 balls into the goal of Neftchi.
