Expert: Russia will play crucial role in Georgia’s fall

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia will play crucial role in Georgia’s fall, as it did during its formation, Armenian political expert said.

Levon Shirinyan cited Georgia’s loss of Abkhazia and South Ossetia following Tbilisi-Moscow confrontation as an example.

He pointed out to Armenian-populated Javakhk and Azeri-populated Marneuli as Georgia’s two field poles.

Dwelling on 2008 events, the expert said that the West simply used Georgia to test Russia’s reaction.

Mr. Shirinyan further stressed the need for Armenia’s closer cooperation with Russia in August 2008 considering its national interests.
