Iran earthquake tremors felt in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Tremors measuring 3-4 on Richter scale were felt in Armenian towns of Agarak, Meghri, Qajaran, Kapan and Goris on August 14.

A 5-magnitude earthquake hit 64 km to the North-East of Iran’s city of Tabriz at 5:32 pm Iranian time (6:2 pm Yerevan time), European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.

The tremors measuring 6-7 on Richter scale were recorded in the epicenter.

Two earthquakes that struck the northwestern province of East Azerbaijan on Aug. 11 destroyed dozens of villages, killing at least 306 people and leaving thousands homeless.
