FM: Armenia continues efforts towards Karabakh peaceful settlement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia shares the international community’s position, stressing the need for exclusively peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, RA Foreign Minister said.

As Edward Nalbandian noted during his speech at Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Azerbaijan poses a threat to regional stability with its threats to use force, boosting military budget, provocations at the line of contact, systematic acts of vandalism towards Armenian cultural and historical heritage, outbreaks of hostility towards Republic of Armenia, Nagorno Karabakh and Armenian people.

“It was impossible to achieve progress in Karabakh conflict settlement in the face of Azerbaijan’s disregard for OSCE Minsk Group’s proposals,” he said, adding that Azerbaijan grossly violates the civilized world’s values.

“Pardoning and giving murderer Ramil Safarov a hero's welcome shocked the international community, which unanimously condemned Azerbaijan’s steps. The Safarov case undermined Karabakh process, regional security and OSCE Misnk Group’s efforts.

Nevertheless, despite Azerbaijan’s destructive actions, Armenia continues efforts towards peaceful settlement of the problem in line with the UN Charter, international principles and norms,” Minister Nalbandian said.
