ANDRANIK MARGARIAN MET WITH PACE MONITORING COMMITTEE RAPPORTEURSMay 13, 2005 - 13:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian met with PACE Monitoring Committee rapporteurs Jerzy Jaskiernia and Georges Colombier as well as Committee Secretary Bonny Teofilova, the Armenian Government's Press Service reported. During the meeting Jerzy Jaskiernia congratulated the Armenian Premier with the fifth year of office. Georges Colombier in his turn said he agreed to accept the post of rapporteur on Armenia, since he is well aware of the problems and history of Armenia and was among the the deputies of the French parliament to have passed the law on the Armenian Genocide recognition. In the course of the meeting the parties discussed the process of Armenia's meeting the commitments to the CE. In this view Andranik Margarian noted that Armenia having chosen the path of integration into the European family is consistent in meeting the commitments. At the quests' request the Prime Minister presented the current domestic situation and the prospects of the social and economic development of the republic. He also informed of the adoption of an anti-corruption program and of the formation of the Council on Combating Corruption by the President's decree. When touching upon the constitutional amendments Andranik Margarian stressed that all the remarks on these changes will be taken into account during the upcoming discussions with the experts of the Venice Commission.
