Heritage leader challenges incumbent president for TV debate

PanARMENIAN.Net - Heritage party leader, presidential candidate Raffi Hovannissian said that political consolidation may be achieved both before and after the launch of the election campaign.

The candidate noted the current leader Serzh Sargsyan as his main rival, urging him to fulfill the 15 points sent by him to ensure competitive polls.

“The official must be accountable for violations of the electoral code; any threat must be ruled out,” he told a press conference, adding that he held organizational meetings in Armenia’s provinces a month ago, accompanied by law enforcement officials.

“Security officials are sent to intimidate own citizens instead of withstanding external challenges,” Mr Hovannissian said, challenging the incumbent president for a TV debate.
