Tbilisi hosts charity concert for Syria’s ArmeniansFebruary 11, 2013 - 14:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - With the support of Armenian organizations in Tbilisi and by the initiative of the Hayartun Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, a charity concert dedicated to St. Vardanants Day, took place in Tbilisi on Saturday, Feb 9. The proceeds from the concert as well as an exhibition and sale of works by Georgia-based Armenian artists will be transferred to a bank account opened to help Syria’s Armenians. The Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan and clergy, the diplomatic staff of the Armenian embassy to Georgia, representatives of Armenian community organizations, intellectuals and public figures attended the concert, which featured performances by Arto Tunçboyacıyan, as well as a number of famous vocalists and dance ensembles.
