RPA silent on new Prime Minister’s candidacy

PanARMENIAN.Net - The new government to be formed following the swearing in of the reelected president is being widely discussed.

According to Zhoghovurd daily, the candidacy of a new Prime Minister is debated by the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), with ex-Yerevan Mayor, Gazprom deputy director Karen Karapetyan as the most likely nominee.

As the daily said, this is the reason Karapetyan has recently returned from Moscow to meet RPA representatives.

As RPA spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov told PanARMENIAN.Net no governmental shuffles has been discussed at RPA. “It will be up to political majority and the president to decide on the governmental composition,” he said.
